Excel For Mac Rtd Functions Think Or Swim Suit
I am having trouble with the Excel RTD (Real Time Data) function and hope one of you experts can help. With the Think or Swim (TOS) platform running in the background, I open Excel and in cell A1, I enter a stock symbol, say IBM. In B1, I have =RTD('tos.rtd','BID',$A$1) which returns the proper Bid value for IBM stock. Here's the problem: if I change A1 to some other symbol, say MSFT, it will give me the correct MSFT bid, but then if I put IBM back in to A1 it just returns an empty cell. No error message or anything else, just an empty cell. So any symbol will work 1 time only. I have Excel 2010 on a PC. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

There are multiple ways to do this. One way might be to create a setter function the opposite of getAggregationPeriod. SetAggregationPeriod(whatevertimeframe) Let's band together in a constructive fashion and ask TOS for some additional functions in the thinkscript language. Click here for ThinkOrSwim Live chat with Tech Support. Ever wanted to put your Think or Swim watchlists into Excel? If you click 'Export', you can save the current list, symbols and associated data as a. These older programs, many of them running on defunct and rare hardware, are provided for purposes of study, education, and historical reference. The RTD function “pulls” data from Thinkorswim but Thinkorswim is not allowed to “push” data to Excel. Therefore Thinkorswim is not able to push a new list of ticker symbols into Excel. In order to update the list of ticker symbols in Excel you must manually export them from Thinkorswim. Click 'Install thinkorswim' above to automatically select the installer appropriate for your operating system and click 'Run'. The download may take anywhere from a couple of minutes to half an hour depending upon the speed of your Internet connection.
