It also appears in the Fallout 76 trailer. While the most popular rendition of the song was recorded by Denver, the version appearing in the trailer is a cover performed by New York-based doo-wop group Spank.1 It was produced by Copilot Music + Sound, a music. I found the Fallout 76 “Take me Home, Country Roads” cover on Spotify, but I noticed that it was not uploaded by the publishers or producers (Copiliot Music + Sound). After some research, I discovered that the only official area to get the song is iTunes.

COUNTRY ROADS

When Bethesda debuted their Fallout 76 story trailer at E3, the presentation was backed by a cover of the song “Country Roads”. Originally released by John Denver in 1971, Country Roads proved the perfect song for Fallout 76; the track refers to West Virginia specifically in the lyrics. It also repeats the theme of “returning home”.

To celebrate the 4th of July, Bethesda is releasing their cover of Country Roads today. Moreover, Bethesda has pledged that 100% of the proceeds gained from selling the track will go to funding the charity Habitat for Humanity; a move that was announced around three weeks ago.

We're rebuilding America – and the world – for the better with @Habitat_Org! The move is nicely in keeping with Fallout 76’s theme of rebuilding; Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit housing organisation which helps to build homes and communities in impoverished areas. Their work has spanned almost seventy different countries and helped over 9.8 million people. Even if the track sells poorly (which seems unlikely), Bethesda has pledged a minimum donation of $100,000 to the charity.

“In the spirit of Fallout 76 and global rebuilding;” said Bethesda in a recent statement, “we’re proud to team up with Habitat for Humanity; a global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the US and in more than 70 countries; to advance the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to call home. Bethesda will donate 100% of its proceeds, with a minimum donation of $100,000, from sales of the single to Habitat for Humanity to assist in the organization’s goal of transforming lives and communities through affordable housing.”

Bethesda has also stated that they will have “additional partnerships” with Habitat for Humanity as Fallout 76’s November release approaches. They have yet to announce exactly what form those will take. Regardless, it’s a very positive move for Bethesda and it’s likely to be well received by fans.
