October 23, 2019: A preview build of the globalSAN iSCSI initiator with support for macOS Catalina is available, and an automatic update will be pushed in the coming days. This build improves installer visibility for macOS Dark Mode users. Note that SANmp is not supported at this time, so care must be taken if using concurrent iSCSI connections.
- Assign the storage volume to the host in the QuantaStor web management interface. Use the iSCSI initiator software on the host/server to login to the QuantaStor System to connect to the iSCSI storage volume you assigned to the host in the previous step. - I recently downloaded and installed iSCSI initiator 4.1 build 247 on OS X Server 10.6.5 (XServe). This release claims to support 64 bit systems. The target iSCSI connection was successfully found, and managed to connect, that's where everything hung though.

globalSAN – The iSCSI Initiator for macOS/OS X
The globalSAN® iSCSI Initiator enables Mac computers to connect to practically any iSCSI storage target, using standard GbE or 10GbE hardware.
iSCSI is a network protocol standard that enables the transport of block-level I/O over TCP/IP. One major advantage of iSCSI is that it can work over your existing Ethernet infrastructure. Depending on the speed of your network, an iSCSI-based storage area network (SAN) can rival the performance of a Fibre Channel SAN, and can cost far less to implement.
In an iSCSI SAN, an initiator is needed on each computer that requires access to the networked storage. An initiator is not included with the purchase of a Mac, so we created globalSAN to bring iSCSI to your Mac.
