Use the latest version of macOS
The first step is to make sure that you're using the latest version of macOS. Back up your important information and then update the software on your Mac.

Make sure you have removed all the external audio devices, like external speakers, earphones, including the wireless ones. Now, follow these steps: Click Apple logo on the upper-left corner of the screen; Select System Preferences; Find and click Sound.
Jun 22, 2012 Sound & Audio: No sound from built in speakers, but sound from headphones I have a Lenovo S10-3 Netbook, running on Win7 starter. It has been running fine unil a few days ago, when the built in speakers no longer play any sound. Works fine with earphones or exernal speakers, but not internal speakers. By the clock (if it's not there, you can go to Control Panel Sounds & Audio Devices and put the check mark there to make it show up), then choose OPEN VOUME CONTROL. Because there are sound settings for the operating system (i.e. The whole computer - web browser, iTunes etc.) and for just for Pro Tools, it is possible to have sound hardware which is used by the rest of the system and different hardware which is just used by Pro Tools. Check your sound settings
If you still can't hear sound from the internal speakers after updating your computer's software, check your sound settings.
First, disconnect any external audio devices from your computer. Also disconnect any cables from the USB, Thunderbolt, or 3.5mm audio ports.
- From the Apple menu , choose System Preferences.
- Click Sound.
- Click the Output tab, then select the built-in speakers. If you don’t see built-in speakers as an option in the Output window, contact Apple Support.
- If the Output volume slider is set low, move the slider to the right and test again.
- If the Mute checkbox is selected, deselect it and test again.
- If you still don’t hear any sound, contact Apple Support.

No Sound Coming Through Headset For Microsoft Lx 3000 W Mac And Cheese
I have the Steelseries Arctis 7 Headphones. I am getting sound from the headphones when i watch movies using a video player software and from the browser when watching e.g. YouTube.
I am not getting any sound when I play games e.g. when games from Steam or from my desktop.
What could be wrong?
In Sound devices there is a Steelseries Arctis 7 chat and this is set as default device. I click test and I hear sound.
There is also Steelseries Arctis 7 Game and this is enabled.
There is Realtek High Definition Audio and this is disabled.
There is Nvidia High Definition Audio and this is disabled. There are 3 of these displayed and they are disabled.
I'm not sure where this has come from. Is it from the Graphics Card. I have the GeForce 1060
Can anyone help, why is the sound not working when I play games? It works when I watch movies and YouTube.
